My first and only child birth experience was with my 2nd nephew. I just graduate from college on a full athletic scholarship and basically I was never able to make it home. It was a great experience for me as a younger sister watching her older sister give birth. I was their the whole time but during the time she was in labor I was just so happy and when I finally seen my nephew it really brought tears to my eyes.
young women in Africa are more concerned about having a healthy newborn or even living to actually give birth. Hiwot Taddesa is a poor place in Africa with one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. These women are young as the age of 15 years old living in a poor household. Pregnancy and childbirth are close to the top killers of women. I am not saying that child birth is a negative subject, i just think their are a lot of pro's and con's about the subject. Childbirth is unpredictable. Modern medicine helps make childbirth more predictable but it is still difficult to know what exactly will happen. When I had my children, I had a midwife but I also wanted to give birth in a hospital just in case something occurred that no one could see. Childbirth is a beautiful experience but the mother to be most take care of herself to reduce the risk of complications.
