Testing for Intelligence???

What I believe that children should be tested on is there ability to act with others along with educational purposes. Children need to have a better understanding of how to respond and act towards certains issues and people. Most of our children grow up in terrible home with out role models to look up too. I understnd we as professionals are here to educate and not babysit but as you see its not helping our future with these children. Kids grow up not being able to communcate correctly some even respond in a negative way. I believe that if we measure how a child responses to others and acts towards people then we would improve the children.
When doing some research about how children are being assessed in different countries and there is always one country tht sticks out too me which is China. In China it is said that they use to read childrens palms to reveal the aptitude of music, mathematics, and languages which is somethings I really do not believe in.

SIDS

The topic that I chose was the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This means something to me because I have a newborn nephew and what I read about this syndrome is that it can be preventable. It can happen in many ways such as how the baby is sleeping which is really scary because who would know is their baby is suffocating. Also, smoking around the child while they are laying on their belly’s and just by the way you wrap your child. In china people are overheating their children by overwrapping them. Most parents wrap their children in the winter in most cases your thinking that your keeping your baby warm but your really overheating your child which makes it hard as a parent.

Child Birth

My first and only child birth experience was with my 2nd nephew. I just graduate from college on a full athletic scholarship and basically I was never able to make it home. It was a great experience for me as a younger sister watching her older sister give birth. I was their the whole time but during the time she was in labor I was just so happy and when I finally seen my nephew it really brought tears to my eyes.

young women in Africa are more concerned about having a healthy newborn or even living to actually give birth. Hiwot Taddesa is a poor place in Africa with one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. These women are young as the age of 15 years old living in a poor household. Pregnancy and childbirth are close to the top killers of women. I am not saying that child birth is a negative subject, i just think their are a lot of pro's and con's about the subject.
